O mně

Moje fotka
Welcome to my blog. I come from the Czech Republic and at the moment I am studying English and Literature at University in Usti nad Labem. I have created this blog for the purpose of PC skills. I would like to memorize my travel experiences here and I think that this is a good opportunity to learn something new.

Spain 2007

This is a typical square in a little village near Valencia. I really loved the calm and silent atmosphere there. There were no tourists and even though it was very hot we enjoyed every minute sitting in the shade of the old buildings and it seemed the time stopped flying there.

Morella, an old medieval town near Peníscola with a gorgeous ancient castle. As you can see it is breathtaking while approaching such a lovely place. Normally, people visit the sea resorts but it is a big shame. The Spanish inland hides many wonderful places.

While raising up the castle we could also see the corrida de torros (bull-fighting) which I am not keen on at all. Actually, I am against such a tormenting entertainment, anyway it is Spanish culture and I have to respect it. I am pleased that many people are against it nowadays.

This picture will probably not tell you anything special but it was not my purpose to take it like that. I did not see the heart in the sky that time. I only noticed it at home and I still feel it was my nicest walk in these mountains. There were enormous rosemary plants there, tall as I am, nice birds and also the almond trees. I just liked that place and I would like to go there some time.

Bulgaria, Rila 2006

Rila Monastery
Rila Monastery is situated in the Rila Mountains in Bulgaria. It is the largest Eastern Orthodox Monastery in Eastern Europe and I was very impressed seeing such an extraordinary architecture.

Rila Mountains
The highest mountain of Rila is called Musala (2925 m). You can use the cable to get higher from the lowlands but the final part has to be walked on your own. The nature is beautiful and incredibly clear.

South Downs, Seven Sisters

England is full of interesting places but most of all I loved Seven Sisters which are chalk cliffs by the English Channel. I lived nearby and I loved walking there. It is possible to start anywhere. I usually walked from Eastbourne to Seaford. It is normally windy but very often sunny and warm. It is never hot which is perfectly suitable for walking in the countryside. There are a lot of sheep everywhere and hundreds of little rabbits which creep out of their burrows in the late afternoon. If you just sit on the bench and watch, you will be surprised what an amazing experience it is.
